Huntington Beach Japanese Cultural Festival 2015

Image
#photography #huntingtonbeach #japanese #culturalfestival #taiko #karate Here are some pictures I took on Sunday (3/22/2015) at the Japanese Cultural Festival in Huntington Beach. I was able to get some pictures of the Taiko performers on their drums as well as a martial arts demonstration. I also got some pics of the cherry blossoms.

Japan Oil Painting

Image
#Photography #Japan #oilpainting Last week I was looking for some filters and came across Alien Skin's Snap Art 4. I found one particular filter that turned digital photos into oil paintings. Here are some pictures I converted from my Japan trip in 2009 (the last time I took a real vacation!). I'll check my library and convert some others ones in the future. One thing that I enjoyed was turning blurred pictures into canvas art. I'm glad I don't throw away photos because 3 of them appeared in this post.

Full Moon Rising Over the Mountains

#Moon #Photography #FullMoon #Moonrise #GetOlympus Here are some pictures I took last week from Altisima Park in Rancho Santa Margarita CA. My son's baseball game ended and I noticed the moon slowly rising over the mountain around 6PM. I used my Olympus OM-D E-M1 camera with a 75-300mm lens.

A Dog named Camo

Image
#blackandwhite #photography #beagle #GetOlympus I don't own a dog because I'm one of those unlucky people who is allergic to some animals. While my son was playing his baseball game, this nice gentleman was letting the children play with his dog. When the dog got animated, I heard him say "Camo" and he calmed down. I'm going to assume that was the name he was given because he listened. Here are some pictures I took with my Olympus OM-D E-M1 and converted to black and white. Beagles are calm dogs and I think this one knew I was taking his pictures because he stopped moving for each one.
