#DTLA #Bonaventure #iphone6splus #microsoft #iphoneography Earlier in the week I got a chance to visit the Microsoft Cloud Roadshow which was hosted at the Westin Bonaventure. Here are some pics I took from my iPhone and uploaded to the blogger app. I have a feeling the pics will come out to the full size since I didn't use photoshop to reduce the size.

Orange County International Auto Show 2015

Image
#OCAutoShow #Autoshow #Anaheim #iphone6Splus I was able to get a free ticket to the auto show and decided to check it out again. I didn't bring my Olympus OM-D E-M1 this time because it was a spur of the moment decision that happened while at work. Luckily, I just got my iPhone 6s plus on Monday so I gave it a go. This years convention seemed smaller than last year, but I liked a lot of the new cars coming out for 2016. #Audi was still my favorite car but what happened to all the TDI models (hahaha just kidding...) Also, the new #Honda Pilots were nice. I didn't notice many exotics this year, but I had a feeling that this show was really trying to sell cars this year. Last year I said if I could walk away with a car, it would be a Mercedes. Oddly enough, this year my favorite walk away car was the #Volvo XC90. I haven't driven a Volvo since 1999 but that was the first car I ever drove. Maybe driving that old tank still has some lasting effect on me. For anyone who checks ou...

West Hollywood iPhoneography

Image
#photography #WeHo #iphoneography #TheChurchKey #SweetLadyJane I took a trip out to West Hollywood to visit my buddy, Spiro, and spend a day/night out there. I'm not sure how anyone can drive from Orange County to Hollywood, but I'll let you know that drive was a PIA. I didn't want to lug around my Olympus camera and look like a tourists, so I decided to use my iphone 5 for the entire trip. I visited a bakery called Sweet Lady Jane which has a killer velvet cake. I'll just put it out there that if you're serving cake at my funeral, velvet better be one of them. There was also some fancy sidewalk art near the bakery. I also paid a visit to The Church Key for brunch and wasn't disappointed. Per my buddy Spiro, the brioche donuts are where it's at. Sadly, I overate and didn't actually get to tastes them. To top off the weekend, I had my first experience using Uber and I'll just say it was very "interesting". One driver was cool but felt like a...

Photography Club Trip to Pasadena

Image
#Photography #Pasadena #PasadenaGov #fisheye #getolympus #iphone6 My photography club, The Digital Explorers (Orange County), took a trip to Pasadena on July 11 to get some nice pictures for our next meeting. We met at the Little Flower Cafe for breakfast then went to the Colorado Bridge for an hour. We then stopped by the Rose Bowl but weren't able to get in due to a Food Expo that was going on. That led us to our final stop at the Pasadena City Hall. Here are some of the photos that made it to my blog. I can't remember which lenses I used, but I did enjoy my brief time with the iPhone 6 and panoramic shots. Also, if you live in or around Orange County, California and want to join the club, you can find info at our website: http://www.digitalexplorersoc.com .

E3 Gaming Expo 2015

Image
#photography #E3 #E32015 #Starwarsbattlefront #gaming Here are some pictures I took at the E3 Expo at the LA Convention Center on June 17 2015. There were a lot of great games and it looks like the next wave of gaming involves VR headsets. I managed to get some footage of Metal Gear Solid V before I was told to turn off my phone. I also got a free shirt for dancing! I think someone is more likely to see bigfoot or UFOs before seeing me dance in person :)

Street Photography in DTLA Fashion District

Image
#photography #streetphotography #DTLA #LosAngeles I paid a visit to the Fashion District in downtown and decided to try my hand at up close street photography. I used my Olympus OM-D E-M1 with the Sigma 30mm f2.8 art lens. At some point I figured that getting up close would get me punched in the face but nobody seemed to mind (or at least that's what I think). Here are some of the photos that I took.

#photography #huntingtonbeach #japanese #culturalfestival #taiko #karate Here are some pictures I took on Sunday (3/22/2015) at the Japanese Cultural Festival in Huntington Beach. I was able to get some pictures of the Taiko performers on their drums as well as a martial arts demonstration. I also got some pics of the cherry blossoms.
